eCommerce SEO services for online stores

eCommerce SEO services that help shoppers find your categories and products in Google, with organic sales tracked in GA4 rather than traffic alone.

We have worked on stores selling grooming products, hair care, kitchen goods and industrial automation parts.

Where stores lose search traffic

Most store SEO problems sit in the category and product pages

A shopper who searches “beard oil” or “stove guard” wants a range to pick from. Category pages are what usually rank for those wider buying searches, so they need helpful copy, tidy filters and plenty of internal links pointing at them.

Product pages win the narrow searches: model numbers, sizes, colors, compatibility. They rank when the description is yours and not the same paragraph the manufacturer handed to every other seller.

Our eCommerce SEO services begin there, with keyword research aimed at searches that lead to a purchase. Then we clear up the technical issues that waste Google’s crawl on filter URLs and duplicates.

Most stores have many more URLs than pages that deserve to be in Google. Deciding which ones count, and telling Google clearly, is a large part of the work.

When does an online store need eCommerce SEO?

SEO for online stores tends to go wrong in familiar ways, and Search Console usually shows the signs before your sales figures do.

These are the patterns we see most often in stores that have outgrown their default settings.

  • Some products rank, but your category pages hardly appear
  • Product descriptions are copied from the manufacturer
  • Filter and sort URLs are showing up in Google
  • Search Console lists pages as “Crawled, currently not indexed”
  • Old products lead visitors to dead 404 pages

Our process

How we run SEO for an online store

Priorities are agreed in your proposal, starting with the categories that matter most to your revenue.

  1. Discovery call

Your best sellers, platform, margins and the product lines you most want to grow.

  2. Store crawl and research

Every indexable URL checked, plus the keywords and competitors behind your key categories.

  3. Written proposal

Priorities, benchmarks, tasks and a price in USD, agreed before anything changes.

  4. Technical fixes

Canonicals, filter rules, redirects and structured data corrected on your platform.

  5. Content and links

Category copy, product descriptions, buying guides and links aimed at the pages that sell.

  6. Monthly reporting

Indexing, rankings and organic revenue in GA4 reviewed with you, then next priorities set.

From search to checkout

How a shopper goes from Google to a paid order

The route from a search to a placed order, and where SEO plays a part.

Shoppers from search rarely start on your homepage. They land on a category or product page and decide within seconds whether to stay.

That page has to match what they searched for, show price and stock plainly and make adding to cart obvious.

  1. They search

A shopper types a product type, brand or part number into Google or the Shopping tab.

  2. They land

Google sends them to the category or product page that best fits the words they used.

  3. They compare

Filters, clear pricing, stock status and reviews help them narrow things down on your site.

  4. They buy

A quick product page and a clear add-to-cart button take them through to checkout.

The page that ranks should be the page that sells.

FAQs

eCommerce SEO services: questions store owners ask

Selling something unusual? Tell us about your store.

How much do eCommerce SEO services cost?

It depends on the size of your catalog, your platform and how much copy needs writing. Once we have looked at the store and talked through your goals, the scope and a price in USD go into a written proposal. Large catalogs are usually worked through category by category, starting where most of your sales come from.

How do you measure eCommerce SEO results?

We look at organic revenue and orders in GA4 first, then at indexing and rankings for the categories and products you care about. Traffic on its own can rise without a single extra sale, so we do not treat it as the main goal. Your proposal sets benchmarks, and we review them with you every month.

Should I rewrite manufacturer product descriptions?

For your most important products, yes. Google tends to show only one version of identical text, often the manufacturer’s or a larger retailer’s. Our writers add your own details, such as fit notes, compatibility or what comes in the box, which gives the page a real reason to rank.

What should I do with out-of-stock and discontinued products?

Items that are only out of stock for a while should usually stay live, marked unavailable, with related products shown. Discontinued items are best redirected to a replacement or the nearest category. A page with links or search traffic should rarely be deleted outright.

Do filter and sort pages hurt SEO?

They can. Every mix of color, size and sort order can create its own URL, and Google may spend its time crawling near duplicates instead of your real pages. We decide which filters deserve an indexable page, such as a popular brand, and keep the rest out with canonical tags, noindex or crawl rules.

Is WooCommerce or Shopify better for SEO?

Both can rank well. WooCommerce gives more control over URLs, structured data and how filters behave. Shopify uses fixed paths like /products/ and /collections/ but looks after hosting for you. The fixes differ between the two, and we work on both platforms.

Do blog posts and buying guides help an online store rank?

They can, when they answer questions shoppers have before they buy, such as a size guide or how to choose between two options. What matters most is linking those guides to the right category pages, so the attention they earn reaches the pages that sell.
